Gloria Mensah Writes: The   month of March is indeed remarkable, which has served Ghanaians a beacon of happiness.  It is a month accompanied with Ghana's 67th Independence and All-Africa Games (AAG), the long awaited event held in Greater Accra, Ghana. This marked the first time Ghana hosted the African Games. The University of Ghana, Legon stadium was commissioned in 2024 to host the event, as well as Borteyman Sports Complex located in Borteyman, is a multidisciplinary sports center which its construction began in 2021 and completed in 2024, alongside Accra Sports Stadium, Bukom Boxing Arena among others.  Borteyman Sports Complex, was commissioned by H.E President Akuffo-Addo on 13th February, 2024 and University of Ghana's Stadium commissioned by H.E Vice-President Dr. Bawumia ahead of the 13th African Games. LOCAL DISHES AND STREET FOOD-A SOURCE OF HAPPINESS IN GHANA

  Gloria Mensah Writes:  Every country has its special local dishes and street food they enjoy, which comes in different varieties. How well do you enjoy local and street dishes as compared to continental dishes? Well, this is a question I asked some few people with different backgrounds, who gave me answers based on their choices of foods. There are several local dishes in Ghana, which are mouth watering and satisfies the taste buds  of the people. Some of these include Waakye, Kenkey with fried fish, Banku with okro sauce or pepper, Acheke, Aprapransa, boiled Yam or Plantain with garden egg or kontomire stew, Fufu with variety of soup, Tuo-zaafi, Akple, Rice and stew among others. On Friday 8th March, 2024, a seminar titled " Youth Democracy Forum " was organized, which is meant to strengthen the participation of youth in democracy. Every 8th March marks a yearly celebration of International Women's Day , to celebrate and appreciate all women around the world, for their remarkable support in the world.  Somewhere in Ghana, Greater Accra to be precise, The "Center For Democracy and Socio Economic Development (CDS AFRICA), organized a seminar at Wisconsin  International University College and that was how Wisconsin celebrated International Women's Day. The theme for the forum was "Deepening Youth Participation in the Democratic Process". UNEMPLOYMENT CHRONICLES: BREAKING THE CYCLE OF JOBLESSNESS IN GHANA

Gloria Mensah Writes: Ghana's economy is currently facing economic hardships, and today's story focuses on one aspect.  The high rate of unemployment in Ghana is a major concern, but the question is, in what ways can it be solved?  The country is facing challenges on issues such as; High Inflation, Low Productivity, Inadequate Social Amenities, Inadequate Health Facilities, Education among others. Several youth in the country find themselves in a situation where they are actively qualified for employment, but unfortunately are unable to find jobs.  Many have completed their Tertiary and other higher levels of education, but the doors to the jobs seems to be closed.  The current rate of unemployment has increased from 3.87% in December 2022 to 3.92% in December 2023 according to Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).  The issue of unemployment has made many people devastated, which has triggered many protests to create awareness for the government to come to the aid of...
